The Tamil Nadu Teachers’ Eligibility Test (TNTET) for 2026 has been announced as a special eligibility test for in‑service teachers, following directives (including a Supreme Court order making TET mandatory for government and aided school teachers for classes 1–8).

  • Who Can Apply?

    This special TET is mainly for in‑service teachers in Tamil Nadu, including those working in:

    • Secondary Grade Teachers (SGT)

    • BT Assistants

    • Block Resource Teacher Educators (BRTEs) and similar posts

    • Special Education Teachers and equivalent cadres

      — Each paper: 150 questions
      — Duration: 3 hours per paper

    • Up to 5% relaxation in qualifying marks for reserved categories (SC, ST, BC, MBC, Differently Abled).
